FINALLY!

We FINALLY got to spend some time with Auntie AK and Uncle Scott last weekend...it had been way too long! We hadn't seen AK for 6 months and Scott for 8 or 9 months. They were able to fly to VA at the last minute for a long weekend, since they couldn't come home for Christmas and we were all going through withdrawal. Josiah was a bit shy at first, but soon warmed up and enjoyed lots of good time with his aunt & uncle.

Uncle Scott soon learned Josiah's love of cars, cookies, & puzzles.


He got some cuddle time with Auntie AK by the fire (since it was freezing all weekend)



The girls got some good couch time with our favorite gelato and a movie!


A fun weekend that was too short. We cannot wait that long again!

We woke up this morning to...

THIS!!

Yes, even NC gets snow occasionally. I think we have about 4 inches of snow right now and it is still falling. Unlike St. Louis, when it snows here, everything shuts down. So, we're enjoying a lazy day by the fire. Hope you're having a good Tuesday!

A Wedding!!

For New Years, Andy & I were able to attend the wedding of some dear friends...Oklahoma style! Tyler & Shannon are both students in St. Louis that we met during our time there. We were so excited to celebrate their marriage and reunite with many friends last week!

They were married in this beautiful chapel in a camp. The entire wall behind the altar was made up of windows & the wedding was at sunset...awesome. The reception was in a lodge on the same grounds. It was pretty and woodsy and just right.

Andy was a groomsman. Doesn't he look handsome in his tux?

We got to spend LOTS of time with the Porters and meet lil Drew for the first time...isn't he precious? He was very well-behaved during the service.

An experiment

After 2 weeks of travel for me and constant entertainment for Josiah, today we're working on him re-learning how to play by himself. My goal is to try to get the house back in some sort of order. It's 10 am and so far we've had about 5 minutes of independent play. I'm still hopeful...

We're Back!

WHEW! After traveling for 2 weeks, we are so thankful to be back home! We had a fantastic Christmas...we saw MANY relatives, got some much needed TLC from both of our families, and even went to Oklahoma for a wedding. Everything was fun, but it's great to be home. Hopefully we'll get back into some sort of routine this week. Meanwhile, here are some Christmas pics for you to enjoy...

Our first Christmas morning at home! We woke up in our own beds, each opened a present, and then got on the road...it was still nice to wake up here. Josiah is fairly obsessed with guitars, so he got his own! Daddy showed him how to use it and now he's a pro.



Josiah & cousin Campbell got to play ALL day on Christmas...they had a blast and even shared fairly well for toddlers.

Oh, and baby news, for all those who have asked: I'm 14 weeks along, we're due July 7th, and we'll find out if it's a boy or a girl on February 2nd!
