28 weeks

So...here we are at 28 weeks...not too much too say. Junior is growing and moving around like crazy! I'm growing and not moving around as crazily :) I can still bend over, tie my shoes, etc...we'll see how long that lasts! Hard to believe that we have less than 12 weeks. All of the sudden this is coming quickly!

A First Peek...

at Junior's nursery! Andy's dad drove in for Andy's spring break to help paint the nursery and put together our crib. Here's your first look at our son's future "favorite place to sleep" (note the hope & determination in my tone).

The official color name is "Windwood Spring" or something like that. We like to describe it as "Caribbean Blue". It's a light blue with a greenish tint to it...not quite turquoise, but not baby blue...I give up, you'll just have to come see it in person!

As soon as we got home from the shower a couple weekends ago, I cleaned out part of the closet and hung up Junior's new clothes. Guess everything they say about nesting is true!

I think the furniture moving and painting have definitely made this whole life change more "real" for Andy. Don't know why having a wife with a basketball for her belly didn't make it sink in sooner, but who am I to judge?!? Heehee.

Thank you so much Pa Wood for all of your help!

Campbell Jean Cummings

Not only did we have lots of parties this past weekend, we also got to hang out with our adorable niece, Miss Campbell Jean! We couldn't believe how much she'd grown since Christmas...she has all kinds of facial expressions and personality now!

Uncle Andy got lots of practice! Of course, she was so good, he probably doesn't have a true picture of "life with a baby".

We wish we lived closer so we could have more time with Campbell, Mark, and Emily...maybe someday!

Richmond Baby Shower

My Auntie Ann threw me a Baby Shower in Richmond this past weekend. It was so much fun! Women from all areas of my life were there...the majority of them were around when I was born, so it was very special to have them help us celebrate the upcoming birth of Junior.

Some pictures of the event...

6 Months Pregnant

My belly button is always poking out like this...a beacon of my prego-ness

Wow...this little guy is set for a while!

Mom knit a fabulous sweater and hat for him to wear!

Everyone wrote "inspirational" messages on diapers for Andy and I to read as we're doing midnight changes...leave it to Anna & my sister to come up with this one!

Auntie Anna Rose...4 more months till margaritas!

3 and 1/2 generations in one picture

Thank you Auntie Ann for such a great shower! And thank you to everyone else for coming and for our wonderful gifts. I promise those thank you notes will be in the mail soon...although I'm not quite as efficient as my sister :)

Babies & Bluegrass...Quite a Day!

We had another doctor's appointment today and also had the gift of another ultrasound! Our son astounded us with his flexibility...

Even the ultrasound tech was laughing at how his feet are touching his forehead. His left elbow is that little chicken wing you see...his left hand was on one ear and feet on the other. No wonder we can feel him moving all the time - he's performing magnificent gymnastic feats!

Junior's profile - eyes, lips, nose - everything's there!

We got to see the four chambers of the heart, all parts of his brain, his kidneys, and more. We are more & more amazed at how carefully and perfectly God knits us together in the womb.

After the gymnastics show...it was on to the
CHRIS THILE CONCERT!

We went to the "Chris Thile & How to Grow a Band" concert with some Lindenwood students and friends. It was an AWESOME bluegrass concert - fingers flying on instruments so fast they were a blur!

Front Row, Center Seats - Chris Thile could spit on us.

Dusty & Kami Jones with Chris after the show

All in all, it was quite an excellent day!

So this is what 20 weeks looks like

It's a ritual or rite of passage or something. One must take pictures of one's expanding belly while pregnant. I'm sure those of you far away have been wondering, "What does Amy look like now that she's halfway through being pregnant?" Well...wonder no more...

Just couldn't put the naked belly online, so here I am in some Under Armour. So, this is what 20 weeks of Baby Boy Wood looks like! We'll keep you posted...

Introducing...Ella Mercy Porter

The Porter Family is now 3!! Ben & Anna, some of our best St. Louis friends, had their daughter yesterday. Ella Mercy Porter joined the world at 2:12 pm...7 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches long. We are a very proud "Uncle Andy & Auntie Amy" at the moment, so we have to show her off!

Adorable yawn

She's so tiny & perfect...the Lord is good.

A potential wife for Junior? We'll have to wait and see!
